TURBO-FLEX® Type I and Type II
TurboFlex® polyurethane pigs are manufactured in a single high-density polyurethane mold. The pig consists of a body made up of discs and a conical sealing cup (Type I), located at the rear and featuring a hollow profile that allows the pig to expand as the differential pressure increases.
The Type II configuration differs only in the front section, where one of the discs is replaced by a pulling cup.
These features make the TurboFlex® pig extremely versatile and elastic, capable of negotiating even severe restrictions while ensuring a high sealing efficiency and, consequently, effective cleaning performance. Pig efficiency is not significantly affected by polyurethane wear, except after long distances traveled within the pipeline. Thanks to its excellent sealing capability, the TurboFlex® pig is ideal for product separation and pipeline displacement operations.
The TURBOFLEX® pig is available in three versions:
GREEN
Standard version, suitable for all types of services
Shore A hardness approx. 75 durometer
Maximum operating temperature: 80–90°C
RED
Harder version (approx. 85 durometer) designed for high-temperature applications and aggressive products (sour gas, sour oil, aromatics, etc.)
Maximum operating temperature: 110–120°C
YELLOW
Softer version (approx. 55 durometer) suitable for water distribution networks and low-pressure pipeline services
Maximum operating temperature: 80°C
SUPER CAST PIG
Manufactured from a single polyurethane casting, the Super Cast Pig offers a valid alternative to traditional Poly Pigs. Available in diameters ranging from 2” to 12”, it is ideal for use in gas pipelines, oil pipelines, and piping systems with mechanical limitations, such as internal transfer lines within refinery facilities.
Produced from low-durometer polyurethane, the Super Cast Pig is soft, flexible, and offers longer service life compared to Poly Pigs. It is designed to pass through 1.5D-radius bends, check valves, and unbarred T-pieces. Its elasticity makes it particularly suitable for product separation operations.
