


The De-Scaling Pig is a dual-module pig consisting of a drive module with a central steel body fitted with urethane cups, followed by additional modules with central steel bodies equipped with special cups fitted with tungsten studs. The drive module and the two tungsten-studded modules are interconnected by cardan (universal) joints, allowing flexibility during operation.
These specialty pigs are capable of negotiating tight-radius bends, starting from R = 1.5D. The specific function of the tungsten studs is to remove hard deposits firmly adhered to the internal pipeline wall, such as scale, carbonates, and heavy corrosion build-up.
The intermittent use of De-Scaling Pigs in combination with standard bi-directional pigs ensures highly effective internal pipeline cleaning.
