
The De-Waxing Pig is a dual-module pig consisting of a drive module with a central steel body fitted with urethane cups, followed by additional modules with central steel bodies equipped with cups housing multiple steel brushes with steel wire filaments. The drive module and the brush-equipped modules are interconnected by cardan (universal) joints, providing flexibility during operation.
These specialty pigs are capable of negotiating tight-radius bends, starting from R = 1.5D. The specific function of the steel brushes is to remove paraffinic (wax) deposits adhered to the internal pipeline wall.
The intermittent use of De-Waxing Pigs in combination with standard bi-directional pigs ensures highly effective internal pipeline cleaning.
