The international scenario, and particularly the Oil & Gas sector, is undergoing rapid change, and companies are increasingly required to monitor and improve their performance in protecting the health and safety of their employees and in safeguarding the environment.
Sustainability is an integral part of the company’s business. Since the early 1970s, TECMA has been marketing specialized products and qualified services for industry in general, and since the 1990s for the Oil & Gas sector, enabling its clients to increase the service life and efficiency of their pipelines, with the aim of contributing to improved infrastructure safety and environmental protection.
Throughout its entire value chain, TECMA adopts a Life Cycle Perspective, consisting of the identification, assessment, and management of its environmental aspects. To this end, the company analyzes its activities and their environmental impact by examining all phases (from cradle to grave), regardless of where they physically take place and the parties involved (suppliers, transporters, waste handlers).
From this perspective, the company has also established criteria for the selection of suppliers of goods and services based on environmental, social, and governance aspects. TECMA is also subject to a continuous improvement process to consistently ensure the highest performance standards, which have always enabled it to establish partnerships with international companies and global leaders in the sector.
Over the years, TECMA has developed an Integrated Management System (IMS) that allows the company to excel in Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QHSE) systems, sharing continuous improvements with its Clients in full compliance with current regulations and the voluntary international ISO standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, for which it is certified.
Among the system documents is the Integrated Quality, Environment and Safety Policy, which aims to transparently communicate the values that the company has placed at the core of its IMS, addressing not only its employees but all stakeholders, demonstrating openness and willingness to engage in dialogue.
TECMA’s commitment to the environment is also reflected in its operating headquarters, which has been completely renovated with the aim of upgrading the building from an energy and environmental standpoint. The installation of a heat pump interfaced with geothermal probes and photovoltaic panels has made it possible to eliminate emissions from the systems. This intervention, together with the installation of thermal insulation for the building envelope, has resulted in the entire facility being classified as Energy Class A.
The entire vehicle fleet complies with Euro 6 regulations and is complemented by hybrid vehicles.
Finally, also in office activities, TECMA is committed to making a difference by using FSC-certified paper with the ECOLABEL mark, while at the same time promoting a paperless approach by reducing hard copies through the digitalization of many documents. Moreover, in recent years the company has become plastic free, replacing plastic bottles and cups with glass bottles and biodegradable paper cups, respectively.
A sense of responsibility and commitment to continuous improvement are an integral part of each of our roles: we make the protection of the Environment, Health, Safety, and Customer satisfaction our strength.
